Pizza Party Challenge
The classes that have 100% PTA Membership by October 31 will WIN a PIZZA PARTY!!! We encourage every parent at Deerfield Elementary School to support our children by becoming a PTA member. Annual membership dues are only $15 per person!

APEX FunRun coming this November
We are so excited to announce that our school will be participating in the Apex FunRun again this year as our major fundraiser! The Apex program will be with our students from November 3, 2014 to November 14, 2014 teaching leadership and fitness as we raise pledges to help our school. We also want you to know that WE HEARD YOU and your valuable feedback regarding last year’s event, our first with Apex, and we are working closely with Apex to make improvements to the experience this year. On Monday, October 20th, we will kick off Red Ribbon Week at Deerfield Elementary School. We will be participating in Pennies for Prevention – so remind your children to look for pennies everywhere and bring them to school next week! This Wednesday, October 15th, is “Ruby’s Night” for Deerfield Elementary from 2pm to 9pm. Dine at Ruby’s and a portion of all food and non-alcoholic beverages will be donated to Irvine Prevention Coalition for community and school-based prevention. On Sunday, October 26th @ 5:00 pm – Anaheim Ducks will be hosting a Drug Free Family Night in celebration and support of Red Ribbon Week. Discounted tickets available. A portion of each ticket will be donated to the So Cal Region of the DARE officers Association. If interested, go to the webpage below for more info and to buy tickets. Our Fall Box Tops Drive is here October 13th through October 22nd!
Just bring at least 10 trimmed and current Box Tops in a zip lock bag labeled with the student’s name and teacher. Unlabeled Box Tops will go into a general fund. Expired Box Tops will be discarded.
- A small treat for every student that brings in at least 10 Box Tops
- The K-3 grade student who submits the most Box Tops will receive a small gift
- The 4-6 grade student who submits the most Box Tops will receive a small gift
- The class with the most Box Tops submissions will receive a popcorn and popsicle party
Box Tops is all about the difference YOU can make. Last year our school earned $1,200.50 through the Box Tops program, so let’s start clipping!

Pancake Breakfast and Yard Sale on
Sunday, October 12th from 7 am – 12 noon right here at school.
Come support your school by purchasing a $5 Pancake Breakfast or donating items to be sold at our Yard Sale.
Donation items can be dropped off on Friday, October 10th at the front of the MPR from 2:45 pm until 6 pm. No drop off of items on day of event. Please only gently used items. And we can not accept mattresses, large furniture or large electronics (i.e. TVs, etc.).
